Grade II listed multi-roomed street corner pub with an old-fashioned feel and most original features well preserved. Comprising of 3 rooms; the comfortable front room has original bench seating with an L-shaped bar and a dartboard at the far end. A smaller lounge room at the back and a larger room to the right of a central corridor complete the interior. The large room houses the pool table and is also used as a private function room. Outside there is a large garden to the right and back of the pub which hosts live music during July and August.
A smaller paved courtyard directly to the rear hosts twice-yearly beer festivals over the May and August bank holidays featuring beers from SIBA member breweries from all around the country.
Live music events on Tuesday night. Second Sunday of the month hosts live comedy nights. The pub hosts regular brewery tap-takeover nights.
Twice winner of Marston's Best Cask Ale in North of England award. Community local with two dart teams, football team and the Oddfellows cricket league which hosts quiz nights in the winter. Previous local CAMRA City Pub of the Year Runner-up.
